{"id":21,"date":"2017-07-12T17:59:13","date_gmt":"2017-07-12T08:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eltsource.com\/?page_id=21"},"modified":"2017-08-25T09:59:03","modified_gmt":"2017-08-25T00:59:03","slug":"job-description","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/eltsource.com\/en\/for-english-educators\/job-description\/","title":{"rendered":"Job Description"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/eltsource.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/for_educators_job_description_top.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"270\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-191\" \/>Our instructors teach at both the Junior and Senior high level to a curriculum established by our teachers and the school, teaching in a variety of methods to classes of about 20 in size.<\/h3>\n<p>ELT Source instructors compose and administer their own lessons and exams according to the curriculum, and evaluate each student\u2019s performance carefully.<\/p>\n<h3>A Day in the Life of an ELT Source Instructor<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Your day starts at 8:30 a.m. at the morning staff meeting.<\/li>\n<li>Classes begin at 8:50 a.m. and there are four 50 minute classes in the morning and three 50 minute classes in the afternoon with a 40 minute lunch break at 12:50 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Even though there are 7 periods a day it is unlikely that you will teach all 7 periods on any given day as your schedule will be no more than twenty 50 minute classes per week.<\/li>\n<li>Your teaching schedule will be decided at the start of each school year and will not change for that school year.<\/li>\n<li>You may have some heavy days with 5 classes and light days with only 1 or 2 classes.<\/li>\n<li>After each class, there may be some marking of students&#8217; worksheets, and depending on the time of year you will write 3 or 5 examinations that you will also mark. Eventually, you will enter the final grades into the schools&#8217; system.<\/li>\n<li>Your day is done when the 5 o\u2019clock bell goes and you go home for the evening.<\/li>\n<li>You may decide to join a school club and you may not.<\/li>\n<li>Holidays are extensive with nearly 3 months of the year off, with a month long summer vacation. All holidays, we are proud to say, are fully paid.<\/li>\n<li>There are a number of staff get-togethers outside of school that you may choose to participate in as well.<\/li>\n<li>Like most jobs, each day will bring you a couple of laughs but there may be the irregular frustrating moment as well.
